When Derek Jeter collected his career 3,000th career hit, he wrote his ticket into the hall of fame. On July 9th, 2011 Jeter drove a David Price fastball deep into the left center field seats for his 3,000th career hit. Derek was only the second player in major league baseball history to homer for the milestone, Wade Boggs being the other. Jeter ended up going 5 for 5 that day, including driving in the winning run . Talk about a fantastic day!

Once this milestone was achieved, the value of Derek Jeter's rookie baseball cards have gone up, and will continue to skyrocket as he most surely enters the hall of fame his first year of eligibility. In the New York Yankees rich and storied franchise history , he is the first yankee to get 3,000 hits. He is a true leader on and off the field, and a terrific role model.

The most valuable of all Jeter rookie baseball cards is the Upper Deck SP edition. This was a limited run of only 200 cards, all are high gloss foil. If your lucky to get this Jeter card, its value is already between $100 and $175. When Jeter is elected to the Hall , you could be looking at card worth thousands.

1993 Jeter Upper Deck rookie card .Current book value is between 25 to 35 dollars, depending on the condition of the card. Professionally graded cards can go for much more, but remember some grading services can charge up to ten dollars just to grade your card, and you will need to ship it to them if you don't happen to be local.

1993 Topps Jeter Card. Value varies between 15 to 25 dollars, again depending upon condition of the card. Either one of these Jeter rookie cards would be a terrific investment, and you should pick them up while the price is still very reasonable.

Another great Jeter baseball card to own is the 1996 Topps card. This was the year Jeter helped bring a World Championship back to the Bronx after a lengthy drought. Card is only worth about five dollars, but any Jeter fan would love to own this baseball card.

In conclusion, Derek Jeter is just a class player and collecting cards is a fun and entertaining hobby. If you are new to collecting , or have been for awhile, all these cards are must to add to your collection.
